Curators Of Inclusion Network
(C.O.I.N)

The C.O.I.N concept is one that prioritises compassionate and collaborative approaches to curatorial practice.

Extending beyond the commonly held remit of 'traditional curator', the network intends to connect experts to champion a wider range of narratives when working with collections relating to mental ill health.

The core principles of C.O.I.N are:

  • Redefining Expertise

  • Challenging Stigma

  • Equitable Representation

  • Respecting Space

  • Being B.R.A.V.E

The network invites members who identify as any (or all) of the following:

  • Curator

  • Creative

  • Researcher

  • Service User

  • Archivist

  • Carer

  • Healthcare provider

  • Advocate

  • Academic

  • Anyone interested in changing the conversation around mental illness within heritage and cultural settings.
