Do you have a personal story that relates to compassionate curation?

Maybe the concept is one that resonates due to feeling excluded in the current landscape…

We are hoping to capture narratives from a range of perspectives to showcase on the network website - we’d love to hear from you if:

  • You are someone who lives with/has lived with mental ill health or distress

  • You use art as part of your process (to feel well/as a safe space/for venting/to work through challenging thoughts)

  • Work with heritage collections (in any capacity, formal or voluntary)

  • Feel museum and gallery spaces should have more to offer on mental health/illness themes

There are no restrictions on format or style, though please read the ‘Points to consider’ section that covers some key information relating to submitting and compensation before embarking on an epic new artwork!

Submission via email: admin@curatorsofinclusion.co.uk

Closing date for submissions: 5pm Friday 17 April 2026

Points to consider:

  • Any artwork created will need to submitted via email, this means your piece will need to photographed or recorded and sent as one of the following formats: jpeg, png, docx, mp3

  • Sensitive imagery is permitted though may only be viewable to members who choose to engage with the artwork.

  • You can choose how you’d like to be credited

  • There is a small token of appreciation for submitting a piece of artwork, in the form of a shopping voucher. We gently suggest that the time spent creating is up to one hour, this is in order to value your practice alongside the modest budget for thanking artists.
